What is a Door Threshold?
A door threshold can separate flooring surfaces from one area to another such as a transition from a bathroom to the bedroom. It can be also called door saddles or transition thresholds. There are a couple of main reasons to install a threshold. For bathrooms or wet areas, thresholds can be used as water barricades. Thresholds stop any water to flow to other flooring surfaces by creating a half inches to quarter inches raise. It also provides a safe transition between floors with different levels such as tile to carpet, marble tile to wood flooring, natural stone flooring to granite, kitchen to living rooms, bathrooms to hallways.
